SEND Sufficiency Strategy 2024 to 2030
The key aims of York’s SEND Sufficiency Strategy
As an area Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) partnership, we've identified the following priorities:
- the voice of children and young people is paramount
- the right support is in the right place at the right time
- children and young people’s needs are identified at the earliest opportunity
- effective transition is secured so that young people can live the best adult lives that they can
York wants to:
- have educational settings that will offer children and young people a challenging and inclusive curriculum, within an environment that promotes learning and development, in line with their individual needs and abilities
- meet needs locally, leading to more positive outcomes for children and young people, enabling them to stay connected to their family and communities particularly as they transition to adulthood
