Elective Home Education
Elective Home Education
Elective Home Education (EHE) is the term used by the Department for Education to describe the education provided by parent carers at home, rather than providing education for their children by sending them to school. This is different to home tuition provided by a local authority.
The Elective Home Education policy outlines procedures to enable City of York Council to comply with its duties towards children and young people living in city of York whose parent carers have elected to educate them otherwise than at school. It's published for parent carers, schools and other agencies with an interest in EHE.
