Talk2Me - communication with young people
The Talk2Me campaign is all about encouraging adults to talk to young people about their communication preferences, whether that is to talk directly to them, through their trusted adult or in a completely different way.
This project stemmed from young people wanting adults to not make assumptions about their communication abilities based on their disability.
The Access4All young people’s group, made up of a range of young people from across secondary schools in York, have designed this campaign from start to finish and would like to share these key messages with you:
- understand young people's communication preferences
- know that young people can speak for themselves if they wish to
- remember, everyone’s different, but I’m my own expert so please talk to me
